P0775: Pressure-control solenoid B — malfunction — what it means, the affected system and what to check before replacing parts.
Meaning, symptoms, causes and checks
The transmission monitor reports a general fault associated with the pressure-control solenoid. The label B identifies the monitored function; it does not establish the valve location or prove the solenoid itself needs replacement.
Affected system: Transmission hydraulic pressure control
Symptoms
- The transmission may shift harshly, slip or remain in a limited gear.
- An engine or transmission warning can appear.
Possible causes
- Pressure-control solenoid B may fail electrically or mechanically.
- Damaged connections, contaminated transmission fluid or restricted valve-body passages may also disrupt pressure regulation.
What to check
- Check the transmission-fluid level and condition according to the exact model and inspect the external harness and connectors.
- Read accompanying transmission faults, then test solenoid B and the valve body using the vehicle-specific electrical and hydraulic procedures.
