P0210: Concerns injector A's circuit on cylinder 10.
Meaning, symptoms, causes and checks
The PCM/ECM has detected an abnormal voltage, open circuit or resistance problem in the driver circuit or wiring of the cylinder 10 fuel injector.
Affected system: Powertrain
Symptoms
- Check Engine light illuminated
- Misfire on cylinder 10
- Rough idle or engine shaking
- Loss of power and poor acceleration
- Higher fuel consumption or raw fuel smell
Possible causes
- Damaged wiring or connectors: frayed wires, corroded pins or a loose harness to the cylinder 10 injector
- Faulty fuel injector: internal short or open winding in the cylinder 10 injector
- PCM/ECM failure: faulty internal injector driver circuit
- Electrical issues: blown fuse, poor ground or voltage-regulation problem
What to check
- Visual inspection: check the harness and connector to cylinder 10 for corrosion, broken wires or chafing.
- Test resistance: measure the cylinder 10 injector resistance with a multimeter (DVOM) and compare it with the factory spec or neighbouring injectors.
- Check injector pulse: use a scan tool or noid light to confirm the PCM sends a pulse to the injector with the engine running.
- Cylinder-swap test: swap the cylinder 10 injector with a known-good one from another cylinder and see if the fault moves.
- Repair or replace: repair the wiring, replace the faulty injector, or reflash/replace the PCM if required.
